CRR Committee Descriptions

Community Outreach: This committee promotes the REALTOR® image by raising awareness and participation by members in various events and fundraisers, providing local non-profits with funds, tangible items or hands on participation.

Education: The education committee is to assist the Education Director in augmentation of the education calendar. The committee generates ideas, recommends potential instructors/classes and suggests events subject for review by the Education Director and Board of Directors. This committee helps to plan & organize non-CE educational opportunities for REALTOR® members for the purpose of professional development such as Tech Fair.

Finance/Budget: The purpose of this committee is to ensure the stability of the Association’s current and future financial posture. Members of this committee must have some financial expertise.

Government Affairs/Legislative: The purpose of the government affairs/legislative committee is to review proposed positions on legislation and local issues. Focus is on private property rights and the interest of the real estate industry. Screening committee to make recommendations to the Board for potential political endorsements.

Grievance: The purpose of the grievance committee is to review ethics and arbitration complaints to determine if the allegations support a violation of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and should be forwarded to a panel, mediation or returned if unfounded. Training is required annually to qualify for this committee assignment.

Membership: The membership committee is to assist the Executive Officer in creative ideas for various member events that will attract the highest attendance. Recommend potential speakers, program ideas and catering choices as well as soliciting sponsors for each event. This committee is also responsible for reviewing applications for the Good Neighbor Award and seeking new Community Partner/Affiliate members.

Nominating: The nominating Chair is the President Elect per the Bylaws plus a minimum of 3 additional committee members. The goal is to find qualified candidates, ready and willing to serve, that will run for the CAR election held at the annual meeting. This committee usually starts meeting late summertime.

Professional Standards: CRR’s Professional Standards Committee has quarterly training required to qualify for the committee. Professional Standards Committee members make up panels that hear matters relating to the Code of Ethics from the results of ethics or arbitration complaints being forwarded from Grievance. They hear and review the case, determine if ethics were violated and impose sanctions as appropriate.

REALTOR Political Action Committee (RPAC):The purpose of the RPAC committee is to set a campaign goal and solicit contributions from members of the Association through fundraising, promote education and sponsor non-partisan political events. RPAC funds are used to help fight local issues that affect real estate such as land use rules and VRBO issues.

Young Professionals Network (YPN): The Young Professionals Network is a dynamic entry point for real estate professionals striving to become more successful in their careers and gain leadership experience. By providing this entry point, NAR is building a new, diverse generation of leaders, strengthening members' affinity for the REALTOR® brand early in their career, and gaining a valuable perspective on generational shifts. YPN's growth has been driven by REALTORS®. YPN has evolved from a REALTORS® Magazine offshoot to a determined, passionate, savvy group of members who use social media effectively and transparently and who are committed to strengthening the REALTOR® brand.
